The muse pays a visit

My art piece for Maue's "god is" poem

In my contemplative prayer group, we're discussing a book called "What God Looks Like In An Expanding Universe" (if I'm remembering correctly). The poem by Terri Maue that started out,
"god is a wild woman with stars in her hair"
set my mind sparking with pictures of what I could do with that, in an illumination, a pen-and-watercolor, mixed media piece of inspiration and enjoyment~ making sure it was something fun to do...

I had fun!~

On Ye Olde Soapbox
I'm constantly waving the banner that creativity shouldn't be limited to art forms and crafts and DOing~ it's a state of BEing, a way of life, an expression of positive energy that fans out of you in many ways, many forms~ art forms being just one aspect.

Live your creativity! Let it thrive in any way it urges to be lived!
Know that you can live it and express it in every moment!
An act of kindness, a gesture of highly personal style shining forth, an expression of your innermost being, your essence~~~ all these are creative expressions, and are vital, they give positivity out into the world, and give it back to you.

Wordless Wednesday: A moment of grace
(both blogs)

A moment of grace
Is that not cool?

Very big, fat jet~ for Presidential limos?

This jet in the photo was actually very, very big, a big, fat, wide, fAST jet that went right over my head. I had the camera in my hand, but was under a big tree; and by the time I ran to the other side of the tree, this jet was almost gone!
It was steel gray, no color on it, and Meant Business, so I knew it was something~ I just didn't know what ~ certainly not your ordinary jet.

I was told later that it was probably the jet used to carry the presidential limos, etc. The president was in town on the day I took this photo.

Funny thing is, I saw another one just like this, the next day...headed in the same direction. Did George W need two of these babies for his entourage's stuff?

Grand Day Out

My middle daughter and I attended an Art event in downtown Cincinnati, this past Saturday...
She insisted afterward that we walk around the (quiet on the weekend) city, and I agreed! It sounded like fun!

Cincy courthouse

The first stop was a coffeehouse she and her friends love~

Whirring fan

The magnificent Coffee Emporium Roasting Company! *Trumpet fanfare*

She'd heard that their grilled cheese sandwich was out of this world, so we bought one to split between us.

Lunch~

It.
Was.
DELICIOUS.
!

Ramblin' Roses
After that, we wandered around, I taking photos like mad, of every architectural detail that floated my boat...

And found the exact car that makes me swoon~

Dream car

I'm biting my knuckle
A Pale Blue Thunderbird convertible!
*Sigh!*

Tap your red shoes together 3 times
It was great to visit, but I was very glad to get back to our cozy home in the quieter, greener areas ~ not in an undisturbed natural setting, as I would love, but quite nice to come home to!

Lace gauze wicker

For more photos of the sights we saw, you can click on one of these and go browse through my flickr pages~ I'd love for you to see them! It was a perfect day for picture-taking!
